Together Announces Panel Lineup!
In less than a week, you, yes you, will be hitting Boston, Cambridge, and Allston in search of the finest electronic music that this area has to offer. While we have your nights planned out, you may be wondering how you can fill the empty void in your life when the sun is out. Luckily, Together will be bringing you a week packed with fascinating, in-depth panel discussions and workshops with everyone from musicians, promoters, programmers, managers, agents and more, in an effort to delve into the heart and soul of the people who dedicate their lives to music.
Here is a rundown of the panel offerings for each day, from February 10th to the 12th. Each of the panels are FREE and open to the public. Simply show up to the Tower Auditorium at the Mass Art College of Art and Design at 621 Huntington Avenue at Noon each day.
Wednesday February 10th
12pm – Promote This! (Panel #1)

In the post-millennial world, what are the best ways to promote yourself and an event? What are the advantages and disadvantages of online promotion? How much do flyers matter? How do I reach the press and radio?

1:30pm – Beat Research (Workshop #1) - Antony Flackett, MassArt’s long-running professor of beat science and music historian gives us a condensed version of his legendary Beat Research curriculum.
2:45pm - New Age A&R - Artist & Repertoire, one of the coolest jobs in all the music industry, has transformed in more ways than the music industry itself. What is A&R now? How can I get heard by these people? And how are they going to find out about my cool music?

Thursday February 11th

4pm - RiotVine presents: Buzz Building (Panel #4) - Some of today’s most buzzworthy acts talk about using Twitter and other leading-edge technologies. How do they affect making music, getting noticed and being successful? What emerging technologies are important and which ones should be forgotten?

Friday February 12
12pm - Visual Immersion (Panel #5) - Here come the VJs! At one time, VJing was considered a novelty, now it’s crucial to making a creative event shine. What goes into being a VJ? Are there particular strategies a VJ needs to know to being successful? How did this whole thing start anyway?
